Heated pool level up

To encourage adults to use the heated indoor learners’ pool at the Centennial Pool during winter, the water level is to be raised to three feet during the two-hour lunch period. From today, the water level will be raised 6in during the “adults” period from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Last year, the level of the pool was left at 2ft 6in during the adults period. It was not deep enough, said the pool supervisor (Mr Rex Page). It took 20 minutes to raise the water level 6in in the 20 metre pool and 10 minutes to lower it to the learners' level. The water released flows into a large tank. Mr Page said the midday period was the only reasonable time to raise the water levei. because of the needs of other swimmers.
