Hostel founder honoured
The founder of the youth hostel movement in New Zealand. Miss Cora Wilding, of Kaikoura. has been awarded the Richard Schirr mann Medal by the West German Youth Hostels Association. The award commemorates the founder of the international movement. The presentation was made by an official of the West German Embassy at a small function at the Kaikoura Youth Hostel last evening. It was in 1932 that Miss Wilding introduced youth [hostels to New Zealand. The [association now has more than 22,000 members.
