First woman principal
The first woman prin[cipal of a State coeducational secondary school in the South (Island has been appointed. Miss Rosamund Heinz was ’ yesterday appointed principal of Hagley High School, one of the largest community secondary schools in New Zealand. She will succeed Mr I. D. Leggat, who will become principal of Christchurch Boys’ High School in May after six years as print cipal of Hagley. In the last six years Hagley has developed as a .Header in the field of “second- ' chance” education for adults, i There are more than 140 . adult day students at the r school, 960 ordinary pupils, and more than 2000 part--time evening students.
