Hit-and-run arrest
(\ 7. Press Association' HAMILTON, March 18. A man was arrested early today after a hit-and-run accident in Hamilton last night, in which a 50-year-old woman was killed. The accident happened shortly after 11 p.m. in 'Kahikatea Drive when the woman was getting out of the : passenger seat of a parked icar. The police said she was ikilled instantly when struck ! by a passing vehicle. She was Mrs Rupirihira Ngakau Maraki, of Minifie Avenue, Hamilton. The passing car stopped further up the road and the driver ran off. About 1 a.m. he voluntarily called into the Hamilton police station where he was interviewed and arrested. He appeared in the Hamilton Magistrate’s Court today.
