Three hurt in crash
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, March 18. A light plane crashed immediately after taking off from a farm paddock skm north of Tapanui this afternoon, seriously injuring the two passengers. The pilot, Kevin Warren Laplance, aged 27, of Invercargill, suffered minor injuries and was admitted to Gore Hospital. A Tapanui farmer, Trevor Howes, and his son John, believed to be about five years old. were seriously injured and admitted to Kew Hospital. Police said that the plane was extensively damaged and inquiries will be held into the cause of the accident
