Malnutrition sores

f.V.Z. Press Association) HAMILTON, March 17. Some children in New Zealand schools had their legs covered in sores caused by malnutrition and bad diet, the GovernorGeneral (Sir Denis Blundell) said today. Opening the Royal Society of Health's Centennial Conference in Hamilton, Sir Denis said this must be due to ignorance in a small section of the community or parents. “In travelling around the country I have seen some

younger children with these sores,” he said. Sir Denis told the conference he was pleased to see so many women attending as they played a fundamental part in public health. “Women have tremendous influence in making sure their husbands and children don’t eat and drink things which may be harmful. The importance of women in the home cannot be overstated.” More than 200 delegates are attending the three-day conference.
