Record entries have again been attracted to the Methven Show. A total of 4783 entries . were received, almost a 100 more than last year.
A huge entry was drawn in the sheep section— 767 compared with only 616 in 1975. Entries in the cattle, beef export and dog sections were also well up.
The horse sections have drawn slightly fewer entries than last year, at 945 compared with 1010. Flowers, photography and dancing brought record entries but home industry and trade exhibits were much on a par with previous years.
