Wool up again
The average price paid at auction for wool sold at the i Christchurch sale on March 3 ' was almost 2Jc per kilogram ' i higher than in January, at ! ! 158.7355 c per kilogram. I i 't’his was the highest average! [recorded in Christchurch sinee( (the sale in January, 1974. when, it was 161.0190 c. This month supplementary payments amounted to $23,825, and added slightly more than 1c per[ kilogram to the auction average. l . Including the supplements, the j average price was 159.2487 c per' kilogram. Compared with the comparable | ! sale a year ago the average: ’ price at auction was up by 65c [ or 691 per cent. A total of 4,643,061 kilograms! of wool in 30,057 bales was sold I for a tola! of $7,394,012.55 includ- ( ' ing supplementary payments, and j ' $7,370,187.12 excluding supple-1 ments. Tile average price per bale was $246 including supplements and $245.21 without supplements.
