The Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Adams-Schneider), middle, yesterday led a group of trade directors and managers on a tour through the Woolston plant of Skellerup Industries, Ltd. The Minister formally commissioned a large, new calender machine which will double the plant’s production of rubberised material. Mr Adams-Schneider also pressed the button to begin the manufacture of the largest industrial belt made in New Zealand. It will be worth $500,000. He is seen here with Mrs Adams-Schneider examining some reinforced hosing. With him. on his right, is the joint managing director of Skellerup Industries, Mr P. J. Skellerup, and behind him the Minister of Social Welfare (Mr Walker).
