Matisse swap
As part of a million-dollar art deal, the Museum of Modern Art in -New York has obtained a huge mural cut-out by the French master. Henri Matisse, Agencej France-Presse reports, | William Rubin, director off the museum’s painting and,: ! and sculpture section, said, the deal was concluded after) four years and a half of talks with the owner of the! masterpiece, the painter's daughter, Mme Georges, Duthuit. Matisse, who died in 1954, covered all four walls of his: dining room with the mural.: It shows a woman bather cut out in blue paper on a horizontal white band,! placed over brown cloth. !;
