Billie Averil looks sound chance at Addington

Billie Averil, which made an impressive race debut at Hororata on Saturday, looks a great prospect in the N’evele R. Stud Stakes, the first leg of the T.A.B. double at the New Brighton Trotting Club’s meeting tomorrow.

Billie Averil finished a close third to Stars and Stripes and Ghinty in the Selwyn Handicap at Hororata, a race which should have improved her immensely. Raced by Mr Clarrie Rhodes, of Christchurch, she is trained by Defvin Rickerby at East Eyreton, and is bred to be good, being by Play Bill from Bonnie Averil. Swift Princess and Bronze Queen could be two of the hardest for Billie Averil to beat, but they have to give her a start of 20m and 10m respectively. If she races with the same dash as she did at Hororata, they will find it hard to catch Billie Averil. Ruling River, Adio Charm and Ellekirk are others expected to race well. Barley Bree, Kama Chief! and Jenlight form a likely trio! in the second leg, the A. L. 1 Pratt Handicap.
