AUCKLAND.
The 17-year-old Auckland vyclist Michael Roberts on Sunday night smashed the New Zealand record for the 4000 m individual pursuit. Competing in the Point Chevalier Club track championships at New Lynn, I Richards recorded an out-; standing 4min 55.8 sec. The; New Zealand record at pres-> ent is just over smin 2sec| ibut J. Swart (Morrinsville)! has a time of smin awaiting ! ratification. The event at the 1974: Commonwealth Games in; Christchurch was won in 4min 58sec.
