Loan for Addington extensions
The Canterbury Agricul- . tural and Pastoral Association has been authorised to borrow $92,000 from the Canterbury Savings Bank to finance the construction of a new kitchen and amenities block at the Addington Show- Grounds. This action was approved ;at n special general meeting ! after the association’s an!nual meeting yesterday. The retiring president (Mr M. R. Murchison) said a tender had been let, and it was hoped to have the new amenities ready in time for the show next year. Tenders for a new -tand would close ;earlv next month, he said. The annual meeting decided that from next year (members will pay an annual (subscription of $B, $1.50 i more than the present subI scription. which has been the same since 1968. The new’ officers for the i year are: President, Mr H. iG. Stephens, vice-president, !Mr W. B. Brown and treasurer. Mr A. H. Gould. As only the required num-! I ber of nominations were re-] : ceived for the general com- j ‘ mittee of 24 an election was: not necessary.
