He had his first drive at a totalisa tor meeting behind Rebecca s Pride in the Second Tasman Handicap and. after setting much of the pace, she ran out a decisive dinner over the favourite. Barossa Pearl. Coumane has worked for the past 18 months for Reg Curtin at Templeton. Curtin trains Rebecca s Pnde for Mr and Mrs Ken Rutledge of North Canterbury’. Cournane gained his earlv grounding in trotting while employed t>v the late Cecil Donald at Belfast He has had considerable success at non-totalisator meetings and should be heard of again before long
