Hawtin’s form tells
Craig Hawtin continued his useful form of the track cycling season into the start of rhe road season when he won the Wool st on club's open criteriums at Halswell on Saturday. In a very keen contest tor the A grade race, Hawtin finished a point ahead of Chris -Hogan: Gary Sword was only three further points behind them, and he. Hawtin and Frank Schaapveld all won four sprints There was also a keen, two-wav tussle in the B .grade, and the experienced sprinter, Lester Vette. held on by a point from Mark Bendall. However. Nigel Alexander and Geoff Tutty .were comfortable winners of the C and D grades respectively. Results.— AMATEURS A grade. 20 laps.—C. D. Hautin. 25. 1; ( . M. Hogan. 24. 2: G. P Sword. 21. 3.
