New Zealand’s carcase mutton trade to Jaoan has been practically at a standstill New (Zealand offers at 34-35 L S. cents per lb. c and f. for early shipment, and 35-36 U.S. cents per lb. for later delivery are being resisted by Japanese buyers who have been filling immediate requirements with Australian product. Small quantities of Australian carcase mutton are being quoted at 30-31 U.S. cents per lb. up to July shipment, with immediate business near the lower figure. Australian boneless mutton has moved up quite sharply, with offers around 51-52 I > cents per lb. c and f. but others as high as 55-57 U.S. cents per lb.
