Australian shares continued to expand, spurred by the falling pound and buoyant conditions on Australian markets. Earlier in the week Australian shares had lost, ground, but only because the dollar premium had sunk lower than 90 per cent, which had the effect of deflating sterling prices beyond actual market movements.
