Borrow a toy

The formation of a “toy library’’ to provide specialised toys for handicapped children, is underway in Christchurch. The creation of the library! is being undertaken by a sub-committee of: the Christchurch Co-’ ordination Council for] for the Handicapped. Miss B. Goldsborough. convener of the sub-! committee, said that the, library would give handicapped children! specialised toys in a; variety which families would not otherwise be able to afford. It will cater to all forms, of handicap, including blind, deaf and mentally, retarded children, as! well as those purely! physicaly handicapped. It is hoped that it will be free, but this is a matter which the sub-: committee will be considering. Members of the committe are: Misses J. Davidson. L. McKelvie, R. Smith and B. Goldsborough; Mesdames R. Anderson and A. Crawford: and Messrs B. Nelson and C I Wilson.
