R.A.F. head on visit to Chch

The president of the Royal Aaeronautical Society (Air Marshal Sir Charles Pringle) will arrive in Christchurch today on a tour of New Zealand and Australia. Sir Charles, who is the controller of engineering and supply in the Royal Air Force, is the first serving R.A.F. officer to be elected the society’s president. He has been an associate fellow of the society since 1947, and became a fellow in 1962. His visit is part of the annual tour of society branches made by the president. Sir Charles Pringle will arrive at Christchurch Airport late this afternoon after spending the week-end in Queenstown. He will visit the R.N.Z.A.F.’s Wigram base and have lunch with officers there on Tuesday.

The Christchurch branch of the Royal New Zealand Aeronautical Society will hold a cocktail party in his honour on Tuesday evening. On Wednesday morning he will leave for Blenheim to attend the national annua! meeting of the society.
