Fire ban to continue

The restriction on fires in the open will continue in Akaroa County until midMarch, at least. This decision was taken at a meeting of the county council yesterday, after the County Engineer (Mr K. A. Paulin) had said he would lift the ban by mid-March if conditions remained green, i Mr Paulin said he would be more liberal in issuing! permits where conditions i were favourable.
