Tinker Boy wins again
Z. Press Assn—Copyright) LONDON. The New Zealand-bred Tinker Boy spreadeagled five rivals in a 3200-metre steeplechase at Newton Abbot in Devon on Tuesday. The gelding, bought In New Zealand two years ago by the trainer’s wife, Mrs Derek Kent, romped in 20 lengths clear for his third English win from seven starts.
Tinker Boy’s jockey. Peter Haynes, allowed others to make the running and slipped easily into the lead at the third last, th** water jump. The favourite at 5-2. I’m Smart, went in vain pursuit of Tinker Boy. but could make no impression.
