Merger of wool brokers

(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. J. E. Watson and Company, Ltd, and Dalgety New Zealand, Ltd, will form a joint wool-broking company which will be based in the existing Dalgety wool store at Lorneville, near Invercargill. The joint-venture was part of a policy to help hold costs by rationalising wool handling, the managing director of Dalgety (Mr D. C. MacDougall and' the general manager of J. E. Watson (Mr G. M. Niederer)! said.

Mr Niederer will be chairman of the new companv, and the manager will be Mr J. A. McArthur, who is wool manager for Dalgety in Invercargill.

Each company will retain its separate and competitive identity in the field and there will be no changes to existing individual companyclient relationships, the statement said.

It is proposed that the new company start business on Julv 1.
