Water polo finalists are found

Wharenui A reached the final of the Freshbake premier water polo competition the easy way by beating University by default. However, the paths of some junior teams were not so easy.

In the under-13 grade, Sockburn Park went to extra time before beating Wharenui and thus qualifying for one place in the grand final. Wharenui now has to play North Beach, which beat New Brighton, 4-1. Wharenui qualified as exjpected for the under-15 &but only beat North by 5-4. The latter has Ito play New Brighton, anI other team which went I through the agonies of extra I time before overcoming [Beckenham by two goals. Finally, the young Wharenui team and New Brighton went into extra time also before Wharenui scored its 4-3 victory. It will meet North Beach in the grand final.
