New school site bought
The Department of Educa-
tion will buy a site of 6.8230 hectares (about 17 acres) for a new' secondary school to be built near Queen Elizabeth II Park. A final payment for the land in Queenspark Drive,! will be made by the Education Department to the owner of the property, (Smiths Development, Ltd, in: June The site is near to a 35.acre site owned by the Roman Catholic Church, which intends to investigate the possibility of building a new secondary school there also. No decision has yet been made by the department whether another site in. Charlesworth Street, near Ferrymead, will be used for ia secondary school. i
