Flights hack to normal

Tasmin flights were hack to nom.al on Sunday after the compromise solution of a long-standing dispute about a sick Sydney air traffic controller which brought Australian civil flights to a halt for 24 hours on Thursday. Two overseas flights left Christchurch on Sunday: two to Sydney and another to Los Angeles and London. All were virtually full. As there are no services to Melbourne from Christchurch on Sundays, Air New Zealand arranged for Melbournebound passengers delayed by the strike to fly to Auckland to catch flights. All passengers affected by the strike had been cleared by mid-afternoon. Two special flights were made by Air New Zealand during the week-end to help clear the backlog, reports the Press Association. The dispute - was about whether the sick air controller. who had been retired, should get full superannuation rights.
