Situation: An intense anticyclone covering most of the Tasman Sea extends on to New Zealand. It is moving only slowly east, and should maintain generally settled weather for the next few days. A strong, disturbed, westerly airstream flows to the south of the country, and is expected to bring some further showers to the far south and southwest.
