Troops from Singapore to visit S.I.

A contingent of about 120 members of the Singapore Armed Forces is due in New Zealand early next month to train with the 2/1 Battalion of the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, in the South Island.

The Singaporeans will train in Canterbury. During their visit, they will also ,ee Christchurch and the southern lakes. The visit is an exchange with 120 Regular and Territorial Force soldiers from the Ist Infantry Brigade Group, who will leave Auckland for Singapore on March 10. file New Zealanders will exercise with the New Zealand resident Ist Battalion in Singapore, and in training areas of Malaysia, where they will practise jungle warfare.

The Singaporeans will arfrive in New Zealand on the return flight of the aircraft which takes the New Zealanders north. They will return home to Singapore on April 12.
