Dandyman picked at Omakau

Cliff Raese-Jones and Kevin Morton who combined their talents as trainer and rider to win five races on the first day of the Vincent Jockey Club’s meeting should have a big say in the outcome of the T.A.B. double and treble today. Anita Kay, Top Secret, Clarendon Gold, Samara promoted from ; second and William Grey were successful for Reese-Jones from the horses he saddled on the first day and all were ridden by Morton. Anita Kay is up 2.skgs for her win on the first day and within half a kilo of Dandyman in the Caltex Gold Cup. She has won only two open class races, but she won so well on Saturday that she must be hard to beat again. Treated for a blood disorder after failing badly at Avondale, Dandyman worked keenly at Omakau on Saturday morning and his class may carry the day. Off Drive might make a successful first appearance at the meeting in the Stewards’ Handicap, second leg of the double. John Dowling withdrew him on the first day as he did not wish to run him against Funny Way. Off Drive has been in work for some time and he could be the stumbling block for Corrandulla, which furthered a consistent record with a clear-cut win on Saturday. RIDERS K. Agnew: Kat. P.
