He was suspended on the first charge. On the foul riding charge, the judicial committer decided that in light of Bell's statement the evidence was not conclusive and the charge was dropped. Bell was then found guilty of giving misleading evidence in relation to the interference suf fered by his mount over the last 250 m and was fined. Walters and Bell were involved in an incident in the Pakuranga Hunt Cup at Ellerslie 18 months ago The case earned a special report tc the New Zealand Racing Confer ence.
