Strong field for gliding

(N Z. Press Association) HAMILTON. A record number of entries will contest the annual Rothmans national gliding championship beginning at Whaharoa tomorrow. The event has attracted a good field and strong competition is expected during the two weeks gliding. Pilots will have their sights set on selection for the four-man national team to travel to Finland in June for the world championships. The national championships were last held in Waharoa three years ago. Three venues, Waipukurau, Omarama, and Waharoa hold them in rotation.
