NEW ISOVEL BY N.Z. AUTHOR
(From ROBIN CHARTERIS. I London correspondent of "The Pess) LONDON. What might have occurred at Mururoa Atoll in 1973 had the French exploded their overhead H-bomb is the basis of a new novel by the New Zealand author. Maurice .Shadbolt. The novel will be released in London on January 6. Mr Shadbolt uses the experiences of a defiant trip to the Pacific atoll area in
the protest yacht Tamure as the basis of the novel, his sixth. In an interview with thei "Guardian.” Mr Shadbolt| said that he did not set out! on the yacht with the inten-' tion of writing a book. He. like many other New Zealanders. just wanted to protest about the French plans. | The Tamure did not reachi Mururoa and the nuclear, danger zone. By the time the yacht reached Tahiti, the French had called off the, tests. 1
