Letters to the editor

Sir. —I disagree with F. H. Hayes in his summing up of! The new situation by which all writers to “The Press” (have to sign their names. .About the only use of pseudonyms (I have a fairly I well-known one myself) is ithat they’ enable certain oldrage pensioners, and others ■ who were perhaps ■ a bit shaky’ on their powers of expression. to put in a plea for some pet project of their own. Otherwise it gave too much scope to people disaffected to their neighbours Ito get in sly digs at them on some specious pretext, or to pay- off wider scores against ■public figures. So let us all istand up and be counted in future. —Yours, etc.. I S. TREW. ' December 20, 1975.
