Lee Valley accident injures 3
(From Our Own Reporter) NELSON. Dec 28. , Three persons were in- ; jured, one of them seriously, ( after an accident in the., iWairoa Gorge. About 3.30 p.m. a light [car. driven by Dale Cleaver aged 16. of 35 Milford .Street, Blenheim, let: the [road near lhe Lee Valley ’Bridge and crashed into a [ditch. ■ Cleaver was not injured, {but three passengers were [admitted to hospital. They iare: Desmond George Peek, [aged 17, of. Lower Moutere 1 11 head injuries) Judy Oxnam, ;aged 15, Rai Valley (serious! .hip injuries) and Joanne ! McKinstery, aged 15. 7 F.l[liott Street, Nelson (suspected back injuries). The condition of Mr Peek [and Miss McKinstery was! ■reported to be satisfactory 'this evening. A motor-cyclist. Peter ,Richards, aged 22; of 6 Man:son Avenue, Stoke, was also admitted to hospital today 1 after the motor-cycle he was' 'riding and a utility vehicle; ■ collided on Haven Road.. 'Nelson. His condition was reported to be satisfactory, but moderate damage was done to his 1000 cc motorcycle.
