Injured geologist recovers

(X.Z.P.A. Stall Crspdt) SCOTT BASE, Dec. 19. Dr David Skinner, the Auckland geologist injured in a sled accident in Antarctica, rejoined his expedition today' after a week’s rest at Scott Base. He was flown out from the Skelton Glacier region — about 160 km south-west of Scott Base—last Friday with a tom thigh muscle. A United States Navy helicopter returned Dr Skinner to the glacier this morning. He will continue the geological mapping of the area with the three other members of the party — Mr Barry Waterhouse, another Auckland geologist, and two field assistants. Mr Gary Brehaut, of Timaru. and Mr Ken Sullivan, of Wellington.
