Financial chairman
The chairman of the New! Zealand Hockey Association I (Mr M. R. Good) has found' a new sporting interest He ’ has accepted an invitation to I act as finance chairman of j the organising committee for) the second New Zealand Games in January, 1977. Mr Good, who is a chartered accountant, replaces Mr N. R. Searell, who will|i remain on the committee li and devote himself entirely ( to the onerous task of ar-. ranging travel for the over-! seas teams — a task he per- ! formed for the first Games’’ this year. The appointment of Mr. G< od completes the com-, mittee, which number.-, about 22. Most of the members, were on the first Games; organising committee. It had been intended that; the committee meet this month, but with so little happening it was decided to hold the meeting over until next year. By then, it is hoped the new Minister of Sport and Recreation (Mr Highet) will have replied to the committee’s request for greater Government financial! assistance.
