Condition of driver ’serious’

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 14. A driver who had both legs amputated when a tractor he was working turned upside down at New Lynn yesterday, was still seriously ill in Auckland Hospital today.

The driver. Cyril Beazley, aged 20, of Glen Eden, was pinned under the roof of the! tractor after it rolled down a. 20ft bank at the Amalga-; mated Brick and Pipe factory.; A workmate freed him by lifting the tractor with a; hoist.

Mr Beazley was admitted to Auckland Hospital, where [senior medical staff decided that his legs had to be amputated.
