Dux from Japan
(AZ. Pres.< Association) NAPIER. Dec. 9. A Japanese student who could not speak English when he came to New Zealand two years and a half ago is now the dux of Napier Boys’ High School. ■ He is 19-year-old Seiji Okawa, the son of Mr and Mrs S. Okawa. His father is the Japanese resident director for Carter Oji Kokusaku Pan Pacific, Ltd. the company running the Whirinaki pulp mill. Seiji’s subjects were mathematics, additional mathematics. physics, economics, and chemistry He also won the Storkey V.C. prize for maths and science. His 15-year-old brother, Koji, was first in the fifth-form music examination.
