Ship brings circus

The Marama arrived at Auckland today with an unusual cargo — three elephants. six lions, three camels. 10 horses, a zebra, pigs, bulls, monkeys, and a donkey — after a five-day voyage from Melbourne. the ship brought the Ashton travelling circus, which I will make a three-month tour iof New Zealand, starting in iAuckland on Boxing Day. • The circus will visit Weli lington. Christchurch, and Dunedin. The animals will I first spend a week in quarantine.
The Ashton circus was founded in 1835, and besides travelling throughout Australia it has heen to New Guinea,
