Bill I Stephens, will return home this I week, but Stevo will wait until i an aircraft is available. Backed at 13 to 4 (favourite) I and ridden bv Ryan Faulkner, he I beat Aurealis by a length, with] Underground a neck away ini third place Shiftmar (Shifnal—Dogma) won] the day’s main race, the $12,000 Norman Robinson Stakes (2000m),| for the twelfth win of his career.] Other recent wins have included the Coongy Handicap and the Bendigo Cup. Starting the favourite at 7 to 2. Shiftmar was taken to the front bv Stan Aitken just before the turn, and held on in the straight to win by a length and threequarters from Authentic Heir, with the mare Kingston Key (Oncidium—Key) half a length away in third place. The veteran Pakistan II gelding. Zambari, made most of the pace but faded to fourth. Gary Willetts said Kingston Key failea to respond to the whip. Latin Reign, a close second to Captain Peri rhe previous week, ran seventh.
