Brabin Cup trialists
A combined Town-Country team will play a Town XI in a two-day Brabin Cup cricket trial at Haglev Oval on November 30 and December 1. The teams are:— Combined XI: M. Johnston (captain), J. Masefield. S. McNally (North Canterbury); J. Gloag, W. Eddington, H. King (South Canterbury*: G. Dalkie (Buller); D. E. Ambrose, C. Burtt (St Albans); iD. Bull (High School Old Boys); J. P. Langley (East-Shirley). Town XI: B. D. Thomas (captain). R. Burley (Burnside-West), R. Wilson. G. Bateman (Lancaster Park), R. Moore, L. Watson (Si Albans), A. Hart (Sydenham), C. G. Marks (High School Old Bovs). G. Carnoustos (Cashmere High School), R. Leggatt (Christchurch Boys’ High School), G. McMannus (Ashburton). V. Brown (Christ’s College) will act as twelfth man for both sides. Players are asked to provide own gear.
