Political vandals at work

Vandals have again struck at Miss Colleen Dewe, the National candidate for Lyttelton. A van used by her for publicity purposes was painted over with pro-Labour slogans while it was parked, outside the Sumner Com-; munity Centre, where she] was holding a meeting last: evening. The chairman of the Lyttelton branch of the NationalParty (Mr R. Gormack) said that a complaint had been made to the police and he was concerned that if this did not stop something drastic might happen next. Last night, members of the National Party were planning to work until morniing, if necessary, to remove the paint off the van.
