Bowls lead shared

Beckenham and Stf Albans I share the lead at the half-way stage in the Four-fours interclub bowls competition. Going into Saturday’s fourth round, St Albans I led with a possible 24 points, two> more than Beckenham. How-, ever, St Albans dropped a' game against ChristchurchRichmond M.S.A. and Beckenham scored the maximum’ four wins against Opawa. Both teams now have 30 points and Iving equal third on 26 are Woolston W.M.C I which on Saturday had a six-point win over Linwood IT, and Christchurch, which improved sharply with a clean-sweep against Papanui Papanui I slipped back a little by managing only a 50 per cent success against Woolston. It had 24 points, two more than Fendalton I. which also earned four points against Mona Vale. Bumham Camp replaced Boon Hay W.M.C. as the Manning Cup leader. Teams from the two clubs met and by winning narrowly Burnham Camp made sure of enough points to go ahead. Others clubs well up before Saturday's matches were Riccarton Racecourse. Christchurch.
