Bailey, has announced that the present control measures on public, decorative, and advertising lighting will be definitely lifted for the period 22nd December, 1975, to 16th January. 1976, inclusive. to allow normal use of Christmas lighting over this holiday period. In addition a review of progress with the commissioning of gas-fired generation and the summer overtiaul programme for other plant will be made early in December. If this review shows it to be possible, an earlier commencement than 22nd December will be allowed for this lighting. Similarly, some extension may be possible beyond 16th January. Any change as a result of this review will be announced by the Minister to all consumers by advertisements and directly to all electric supply authorities. Meanwhile, interested organisations can definitely plan on the use of public, decorative and advertising lighting for the period December 22, 1975, to January 16, 1976. P. W. BLAKELEY.
