Display of latest in equipment
A two-day exhibition of the latest in office equipment available in New Zealand'opens tomorrow in the Horticultural Hall, (hristj church.
The exhibition is being organised by the public practice committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants, which put on a similar two-day show in May last year.
The exhibition will feature both static and working displays. Most of the country’s major office equipment manufacturers and distributors will be represented. The convener of the public practice committee (Mr G. Knight) said yesterday that the whole range and scope of office equipment was changing so rapidly that the committee had decided on an exhibition to give business people a chance to evaluate what was currently available and what
new uses were being made of equipment coming on to the market. He said it was not often that such a wide range of office equipment was available for a “one stop’’ inspection
Mr Knight said that, the advantage in seeing all the equipment together was that it gave potential users a chance to draw comparisons and to determine exactly what kind of equipment would fill their needs. He said that not everyone appreciated how certain kinds of office equipment could benefit their business or increase efficiency.
Mr Knight felt that the biggest change in office equipment in recent years had been the advent and growth of the mini computer and other sophisticated electronic hardware He said that developments in this field occurred so quickly that it was often difficult to keep up with the latest trends.
