Second award for writer

An Auckland writer, Mrs Margaret Sutherland, has received the Freda Buckland Literary Award for 1975 for her first novel, “The Fledgling”. This award is judged on literary merit, and the judges are the holder of the chair of English at Otago University, and the editor of the “New Zealand Listener,” at the time. Mrs Sutherland received the 1974 Katherine Mansfield Award for her work. Her second novel, “The Love Contract,” will be published early next year.
