Water needed at Ferrymead
The Ferrymead Trust asked the Heathcote County Council’s works committee, at its meeting on Thursday, to install a water-main to give an adequate water-supply for fire fighting. The trust said the existing main was not big enough, and though water could be Dumped from the Heathcote River there would be problems at low tide. The committee recommended the council to ask the Lyttelton Borough Council if a supply could be got ifrom the nearby borough (pumping station.
