PARTY SLOGAN

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 29. “New Zealand, the way you want it,” was today confirmed as the National Party’s General Election slogan. The president of the party (Mr G. Chapman) announced the slogan at a press conference. During the next four weeks, the National Party will release its complete election policy of more

than 300 foolscap pages and a 17-page manifesto will be on sale.

The deluge of pamphlets already issued will be added to, particularly by 750,000 copies of one covering what the party sees as its main policy planks for the election. Mr Chapman said the National Party considered that, the economy aside, superannuation would be the main issue, and that accounted for the decision to publish 445,000 copies of yet another pamphlet on the subject, the third.

The pamphlets — and there were others on women (375,000 copies)

and housing (275.000) would be hand distributed by the party’s membership which, said Mr Chapman, was believed to be more than 175,000. In the next two days, the party will complete its campaign strategy, with meetings of the Dominion executive, the Dominion publicity committee, and all candidates. Mr Chapman said the party’s television pro- : grammes would be in : three-minute slots over I the allocation of 50 minutes.
