Sponsored trek
The annual trek of the Canterbury Scouting Association will begin at 8.30 a.m. on Saturday. About 2000 scouts, cubs, venturers, and leaders will walk from Latimer Square to Blue Skies in Kaiapoi.
The money raised from the sponsored 12-mile walk will go towards improving training facilities at Blue Skies and for general development of scouting in Canterbury. A scout fair will be held at Blue Skies from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
