Festival films showing
Fifteen films from the recent international amateur film festival organised by the Christchurch Movie Club will have a public screening in the Museum Theatre on Saturday and Monday nights.
Three .of the films will be screened on both evenings — “The Flee Market” by J. and G. Hickie (Scotland), winner of the fiction section; “Football U.5.A.,” by F. Harshbarger (United States), winner of the documentary section; and “Bali.” by Kurt Keil (Austria), winner of the travel section and the Hei Tiki Trophy. The programme is:— Saturday.— “Sci Azzuro (Italian Ski-ing).” R. Mando ; lesi (Italy), Kodak Prize for Best Photography; “The Discoverers Club,” M. Rosenzweig (U.S.); “Beyond Saimaa Canal to Kuopio,” A. O. Olsen (U.S.); “The Flee Market.” J. and G. Hickie (Scotland), winner fiction section; "Mother is Shaving,” M. Taylor (Christchurch); “Tuneful Wings,” Orr and Goff (U.S.), Photographic Service nature award; “And on the Eighth Day,” Altrincham Cine Club (England), Kempthorne Prosser monochrome award; “Football U.5.A.,” F. Harshbarger (U.S.), winner documentary section; “Bali,” Kurt Keil (Austria), Hei Tiki Trophy, winner travel section, Agfa Gaevert prize for editing.
