Man cut by knife in fight

Christchurch detectives are looking for two men who were involved in a fight on Saturday evening during which another man was cut on the thigh and ankle. The injured man was taken to Christchurch Hospital where his injuries were stitched.

The injured man and a friend were in Selwyn Street, Spreydon, about 9.20 p.m., when the man bumped into two persons walking along the road. An argument flared and the man was cut on the thigh with a knife.

The man tried to kick the knife from the hand of his assailant and was cut on the ankle. The attacker and his companion ran off and are thought to have left in a car. The police are looking for a European in his early 20s, sft Bin, of medium build, with brown hair. His companion was described as a Maori or Islander.
